Permits, cutoms, immigration, fees and other regulations for boats entering the Bahamas:
Noonsite, Bahams: Formalities. says it better and keeps it more up to date than I ever could:
Some possible changes: I've read that U.S. citizens must now have a passport. Driver's licenses and birth certificates are no longer valid. Taking of conch by foreign nationals
is no longer permitted at any time. Again, I present this as something to check into. Verify the most current procedures yourself.
Bahamas site regarding customs clearance by boat, includes forms. I can't guarantee it's up to date.
U.S. boats returning to the U.S.:
Noonsite, U.S Entry
U.S. Customs number to call when returning to the U.S.: 800-432-1216
Customs decal information (boats over 30 ft. ) 317-298-1200 X1245. Business hours only. EST.
Verify information presented here to be sure it is current and applicable to you. Regulations can change and vary depending on one's nationality.
